Your desk day needs movement, not a perfect workout
Small, repeatable opportunities to move can make getting active feel more achievable.
A busy day can disappear into a chair. You do not need to wait for the perfect gym session to start making room for movement.
Start with something achievable
- Take a short walk during a break, if that is comfortable for you.
- Choose a movement you enjoy and can adapt to your ability.
- Start gently and build up gradually.
Make the plan realistic
Consider what gets in the way: time, pain, transport, confidence or simply forgetting. Pick one opportunity that fits your day. For example, put a short movement break in your calendar or arrange to walk with a friend. These are ideas to try, not a prescribed exercise programme.
Ask for help when you need it
If a health condition, injury or uncertainty makes activity difficult, ask your GP or a suitable allied health professional for guidance. A useful starting question is: What can I safely do now, and how should I build from there?
